The story follows the coming-of-age story of Sawako Kuronuma, a high school girl whose long black hair and pallid skin leads the other kids to call her Sadako (after the ghost character in The Ringhorror stories). She eventually changes her life with a little help from the popular boy Kazehaya and her other classmates. ~so shoujo type~ who cares

The manga was nominated for the first ever Manga Taisho Awards in 2008, and it won the Best Shoujo Manga award in the 32nd Annual Kodansha Manga Awards that same year.
